The fees include VAT.

Cancellation and refunds for the conference (excluding side event to Kajaani):
Until Sep 10th, 2018 full refund minus 100 € cancellation fee
Between  Sep 11th - 30th 2018, 50% refund
After Oct 1st 2018 no refund

* Sponsorship for full time students (Master’s or doctoral degrees) at Finnish and Swedish universities. The support by the conference sponsors allows free participation to a limited number of students who are presenting in the conference. The students should contact the NWBC 2018 organising committee and send an application for sponsorship for full time sudents to the address NWBC2018(at)vtt.fi. There is no specific format for the application. The sponsorship covers the conference fee and the conference reception at Bioruukki (the side-event travel cost and the conference dinner are not included).

** Guests that are especially invited by the NWBC 2018 Organising Committee.

Equipping Europe for biobased innovation

October 22nd 2018 this interactive workshop will gather together industry, researchers and experts from pilot plants to discuss the state of the open-access pilot infrastructure for the European bioeconomy. The workshop will also examine the different opportunities to improve service delivery and interconnection between open-access facilities.

The contributions are expected to address scientific discovery, product and process technology developments and innovations in the value chains for Nordic wood biorefineries. More specifically the topics of the call for papers are:

Wood and side-stream conversion technologies
Chemical and material products from wood components
Technical and economic feasibility
Industrial experiences

Submission and acceptance of abstracts and papers:

Abstract submission is closed.

Guidelines for preparation of manuscripts (oral and poster presentations) to NWBC 2018 proceedings book.

Poster Info

The only guideline is the poster size (A0) and orientation (vertical). Other than that you are free to design your posters layout the way you like. All you need to bring is your poster (you need to print it yourself). There will be available the attachment pins (small needles) and the poster stands (hard boards in stands), onto which the paper posters are to be mounted by the poster presenter. One stand will be for two posters (one poster per side).

The conference venue & accommodation

The conference venue will be Scandic Marina Congress Center in Helsinki City Centre.

Marina Congress Center has a fantastic location in Helsinki city centre by the sea in Katajanokka, just a couple of minutes walk from Kauppatori market square and a short walk from Helsinki railway station. The Scandic Grand Marina Hotel is situated close by the venue.
